Hartley

I have only one ancestral generation of my HARTLEY line, but a considerable amount of lateral detail around it, due mainly to the publication by the Cumbria Family History Society in their newsletter of some details from the 1852 will of one Isaac Hartley, who had lived in the parish of Gosforth.

In his will Isaac mentions Thomas PEARSON of Howhall and the RAWLING connection. Isaac also mentions his late sister Bridget PEARSON and a number of her children who are still alive at the writing of the will. Clicking through on the Pearson link will take you to the evidence that Isaac's sister Bridget HARTLEY married Thomas PEARSON.

This event is also found in the IGI from the parish registers of Gosforth in south-west Cumberland. The marriage of Thomas PEARSON and Bridget HARTLEY is registered on 12 November 1802.

I don't have much else about Bridget. In the 1851 census for How Hall, Ennerdale, Thomas PEARSON appears as an 81-year-old widower, so she would seem to have died by then.
