Samuel TOVILL was described in 1842 as a labourer.
His daughter Lydia TOVILL was probably born around 1815 to 1820, in Middleton in eastern Suffolk. In 1842 she married Joseph HAMMOND at Frostenden; she was at this time a servant in Westleton. Westleton is very near to Middleton; Frostenden is some miles to the north. After marriage they lived at Frostenden; Lydia is listed there as an agricultural labourer in the 1871 census.
