I have five generations of this line, in Pardshaw in the parish of Dean in the north-western Lake District, Cumberland. They were Quakers, attending the meeting house at Pardshaw Hall (more information about Pardshaw Hall and its Quakers here).

9. John (d 1738) and Mary (b 1678) ROBINSON. Mary was previously a BARN. More.

Martin married a woman called Annas in 1641. Their children were John, Joseph, Annas, Ellinor and Mary. I know nothing of them except John - see below.

9. John (d 1738) and Mary (b 1678)

John would have been born some time in the mid to late 17th century. He married Mary BARN on 13 November 1707 at Pardshaw Crag. On 7 September the following year their son John was born (or baptised). John snr died at an old age about 14 May 1738.

8. John (1708-81) and Mary (1709-68)

John was a yeoman of Pardshaw. On 7 February 1732/33, aged 24, he married a woman a little younger than him, Mary HARRIS of Underwood, at Mosser in the parish of Brigham, just across a boggy valley bottom from Pardshaw. They had a large family:
Sarah 1733
John 1734/35
Joseph 1736
Susannah 1738
William 1740/41
Mary 1743
Hannah 1745
Jane and Isaac, twins 1747/48
Deborah 1750 and
Anne 1755.

In 1758 John snr made a will, but outlived his wife Mary who died on his birthday in 1768, aged about 59. John died in 1781, shortly after his 73rd birthday and the 13th anniversary of his wife's death. He was predeceased by two of his daughters - Sarah the eldest in her early 30s about 1764, and Jane about 1772 (also in her 30s). Of the other children, Deborah died at a similar age about 1784, John the eldest son in 1791 (in his 50s, in Dublin to where he had emigrated), William in 1819 in his late 70s (also in Dublin), and Anne in her late 60s in 1822. For Mary see below and of the others I have information only that Joseph lived to a great age.

7. Mary (1743-1821)

Mary married William ALLASON of Mosser Gate in 1779 - William was a yeoman, in his mid-40s, and a widower with a son aged about 11. Mosser Gate is across the valley from Pardshaw and very near where Mary's monther had come from. William's first wife had also been called Mary ROBINSON - this seems to have been a close-knit set of families. For Mary's married life and family, see the ALLASON page.
