Jones

Thomas (b abt 1807) and Mary (b abt 1807) JONES lived in Flintshire. They had addresses in the neighbouring places Hawarden and Broncoed. Thomas was an engine worker, engine driver or engineer - I don't know whether these were different names for the same thing or whether he changed jobs to some extent during his career.

Their daughter Lydia JONES was born about 1850 in Hawarden (though I can't find the record of this so I have some doubts). She gave her occupation as dress maker when she married William SWAINSON in 1870, but then seems to have gone into the same industry as the rest of the family, having a job in the coal mine at Broncoed in 1871. I can't really read what the job is but it looks like Underlooker or something?
