Further details:

9. John and Ann (lived early 18th century) of Old Mawbray in the parish of Holme Cultram, Cumberland

John and Ann GLAISTER appear in the records of Home Monthly Meeting of the Society of Friends (Quakers) as the parents of William, born 2 June 1733 (see below for his later life). It is hard to make out their place of residence but it could be Old Mawbray, which is in the township of St Cuthberts in the parish of Holme Cultram AKA Abbey Holme in north-west Cumberland. Their other children included Robert (who died in 1789 on the Isle of Man) and Rachel (who married Thomas OSTLE, brother to Mary OSTLE mentioned below, and died in 1805 at Allonby).

8. William (1733-1787) and Mary (d 1793) of Newtown in north-west Cumberland

William married Mary OSTLE, of a prominent local Quaker family. They had several children:
Mary (17 February 1758 - married Daniel BEEBY - detailed below)
John (about 1759 - married Mary BEEBY, sister of Daniel BEEBY just mentioned; John and Mary lived at nearby Wolsty and had four children; John died in 1837)
Thomas
Hannah (married John NELSON; had ten children; died in 1839 or 1840)
Joseph (married Mary CHAMBERS in Holme Abbey church but had no surviving children; died 1843)
Ruth (about 1769 - married John COULSON; had thirteen children including a set of triplets; died 1845)

William died aged 54, of a sudden illness in June 1787. Mary his wife died in August 1793.

7. Mary GLAISTER (1758-1799) who married Daniel BEEBY

Mary married Daniel BEEBY in 1779 at Beckfoot meeting house, west Cumberland. They were both 21 and he was from an entrepreneurial local Quaker family. Her married life is detailed on the BEEBY page. She died in 1799.
